Meet Isaac and Nadia: victims of a hit-and-run
Isaac and Nadia need an 8-person vehicle as soon as possible.

A hit-and-run took their family van in fall of 2021.
Isaac and Nadia moved to the United States from South Sudan in 1999, fleeing the religious persecution that destroyed their home and was endangering their lives. Though they were threatened to be overcome by trauma and culture shock, Isaac and Nadia chose to blossom in their new life in Dallas and raised a family that totals nine children (!), three of whom are now grown. Through the years, they have faced the challenges of life with character, and they are known in their community for being trustworthy, resilient, and full of optimism.
In October of 2021, their family minivan was totaled when it was involved in a hit-and-run accident. With used vehicle prices skyrocketing due to pandemic shortages, the insurance money they received plus their savings wasn’t nearly enough to replace the vehicle. Isaac and Nadia were immediately thrust into a financial predicament. Both of them worked in order to provide for their large family, but without the minivan, Nadia was forced to quit her job, which caused additional financial hardship. Not surprisingly, each month since then has found them further away from being able to replace their vehicle and get back on their feet.
It could seem public transportation would be the answer to this problem, but the time to get to and from work by bus could take Nadia 3-4 hours each day, an impossibility for a mother with six children at home. Although Nadia’s former employer stands ready to hire her back, she is unable to physically get to the work location. The family is currently borrowing a small vehicle from their oldest daughter, which means wherever they go as a family must take two separate trips to get there and two to get back.
For around $12,000, we can help Isaac and Nadia with a vehicle that can fit their entire family and set them back on the path of self-sufficiency and financial freedom. Click here to donate toward a vehicle for this family.
