Client #18: Breaking the yoke of oppression
Our next client came to us from Unbound Now, an organization dedicated to fighting human trafficking and helping survivors on the path to restoration.
During the application and interview process, we were amazed to hear the story of how a desperate cry out to God turned into a relationship between two women and the beginning of a long journey of restored hope. It was also clear to us how committed our client, a single mom, is to self-sufficiency, and is doing everything she can to forge a new path, including helping others who are in the situation she was in. This vehicle will give her the ability to freely pursue the goals she is already taking steps toward.
One of the best parts of this giveaway came from the vehicle side of the story. An immaculate 2010 Chevy Impala was donated to OnRamp DFW by another single mom, who told us her story: she had been in a tough spot herself several years ago, with several thousand dollars of needed car repairs she was unable to afford. Someone unconditionally paid for her repairs, which helped her get back on her feet. Now she wanted to similarly impact another single mom’s life, by giving this vehicle, with no expectation of being paid back!
We are so grateful to everyone who contributed to this gift, including our generous donors - who helped us pay to have the vehicle serviced and prepared, CBA - who partnered with us to do the servicing, our generous donor - who truly modeled the life-changing impact of God’s grace, and Unbound Now, who had already done so much in the life of our client, and was an ideal Advocate.
We are currently recruiting for our Client Care Team, which is involved with our clients with the interview process, the giveaway day, and the year of follow-up and care afterward. Click on our Volunteer link if you’re interested in helping us on this mission!
