A donated Prius gave this overloaded mom the gift of margin.

We’re so thankful for the families who have generously donated a valuable used car in 2024! When a donated vehicle has plenty of life left in it, like this Prius, we are able to turn around and immediately gift it to one of our waiting clients so they can now get to all the places they need to go. Azamit is an example of a mom who was having to walk incredible distances and rely on the generosity of friends who were not always available in order to get to work and regular family appointments. She told us she rarely went to bed before midnight because evening was the only time she had to catch up on all the house chores she hadn’t had time to do during the day.

One of our favorite parts of Azamit’s vehicle giveaway was when we gave her a Bible in her native or “heart language”, which honestly took us a little bit of work to track down! Azamit immediately started crying and kissing the Bible. She communicated that the hope offered in the Bible was even more powerful to her than the much-needed vehicle she was receiving that day.

A couple of days later, Azamit called to let us know how grateful she was for the Prius. She wanted to make sure we let everyone who was involved know how thankful and happy she is!

BTW, whenever we receive a donated vehicle that may not have as much life in it (< 5 years), we are able to sell it and put the money toward purchasing a newer and lower-mileage used vehicle for a client.

One of the ways you can help us make a difference in DFW is to spread the word that OnRamp DFW is a viable place to donate a used car once a family is finished with it!
